The State Dinner Gala

The LBJ Foundation gala, held on December 1^st at the LBJ Presidential Library provided a preview of the newly renovated permanent exhibit and was a nod to the elegance and class of a White House State Dinner in the 60’s. More than 450 guests dressed in tuxedos and long gowns arrived to walk the aqua carpet into the Library for cocktails followed by a seated dinner on the Plaza. The menu, developed by local chef David Bull, was inspired by Johnson-era state dinners. Desserts and coffee were served in the Library and in the dance lounge, where Sha’on and the Girls provided ‘60’s Motown tunes well into the night.
